No longer an Evil Genius, Aleksandar Hinojosa announces he’s a VALORANT free agent

Break out that chequebook

One of the true high-profile names in VALORANT is now a free agent actively looking to land with a new team. Former contract player Aleksandar Hinojosa has cut ties with Evil Geniuses, and has announced himself as a non-restricted free agent on Twitter.

There’s an explanation for why Hinojosa finds himself on the open market. The 20-year-old joined Evil Geniuses at the beginning of this year when the gaming and lifestyle organization jumped into the professional VALORANT game. Unfortunately EG struggled to find its footing since then, which is to say that if there was a “crickets” sound for a win column, that’s what VALORANT fans have been hearing.

And, as a result, Evil Geniuses decided to sever ties with not only Hinojosa in an attempt to move forward, but also his teammates Ronan “Osias” Javelona, and Claudia “Clawdia” Che. Of the three, Hinojosa was widely regarded as the star of the show, meaning his departure surprised many who follow the game.

Hoping to make some serious waves in the North America VALORANT Champions Tour Stage Three: Challengers One tourney, Evil Geniuses replaced its departures with Brandon “Branted” Ballard, Daniel “roca” Gustaferri, and Mike “Pho” Panza.

Former contract player Aleksandar Hinojosa nonetheless certainly seems to have nothing but good things to say about his time with Evil Geniuses.

“i greatly appreciate the opportunity at @evilgeniuses,” he Tweeted earlier today. “As of today i am a non-restricted free agent. i am looking to play initiator, controller or duelist. DM me or @carterpulse for inquiries. rt’s appreciated :~)”.
