Britain’s Excel esports organization has made a serious move into the world of Fortnite competitive play by bringing Jaden “Wolfiez” Ashman into the fold.

The 16-year-old British gamer holds the Guinness World Record as the youngest esports player to win US$1 million at a single event. Ashman took home second place honours and a US$1,125,000 paycheque in the 2019 Fortnite World Cup.

The signing sees Excel—which boasts a solid League of Legends teams— expanding into Fortnite, joining more established organizations like FaZe Clan and 100 Thieves.

In addition to participating in Fortnite tournaments under the Excel banner, Ashman will represent the organization on his various channels.

“Fortnite is one of the most-watched esports in the world and has seen immense growth over the last few years,” Excel chief gaming officer Kieran Holmes-Darby said in a press release. “Everyone at Excel Esports is really excited to get involved and work together with Wolfiez to show everyone the best of what British esports has to offer.”
