GearHead: Casio teams up with FaZe Clan for new G-SHOCK watch

It ain't Gucci

Thanks to a new collaboration with Casio, you can add FaZe Clan to the list of esports organizations that have teamed up with watch manufacturers. You know, like Fnatic did back in June, when it paired up with Gucci for a limited-edition dive watch that will set you back CAD$1,980.

Casio sure as hell ain’t Gucci. If you’re a FaZe Clan fan, though, (or just shopping for one) that’s probably a good thing.

Today, Casio and FaZe announced a limited-edition collaborative timepiece. The custom G-SHOCK DW6900FAZE20-4CR comes in a red-and-black tiger-camo print. An engraving on the back of the case commemorates 2020 as FaZe Clan’s 10th anniversary.

As the Casio press release informs us, the watch also comes equipped with G-SHOCK technology including:

  • Shock Resistance
  • 200M Water Resistance
  • Flash Alert
  • EL Backlight with Afterglow
  • 1/100 Second Stopwatch
  • Multi-Function Alarm
  • Countdown Timer
  • 12/24 Hr. Time Formats

The best feature of all

The best feature of all, though? That would arguably be that, unlike the Fnatic/Gucci collab mentioned above, the DW6900FAZE20-4CR won’t set you back a month’s salary.

Starting Friday (November 27), you can own one for US$150. Which, let’s face it, is money you probably would have spent on FaZe Clan G FUEL Energy Formula anyway.

“G-SHOCK is a brand that all of us grew up on,” says FaZe Clan’s VP of Marketing Taav Cooperman. “We loved the idea of bringing it into our world and creating something tangible with this special collaboration, giving some of our gaming culture to the iconic brand we love so much.”

And he’s definitely not just saying that because he has to.

Find the DW6900FAZE20-4CR will retail for $150 and be available for purchase starting November 27, 2020 at the G-SHOCK Soho Store, the FaZe Clan online shop , or the G-SHOCK website .

I have done a lot of different things over the course of my life and professional career. I have interviewed Oscar and Grammy winners and written cover stories for glossy newsstand magazines. I have played guitar in a rock band on national TV and run an independent music label for which I wrote all of the PR and marketing materials. In my spare time, I sweated out a novel about a world where raccoons are kings and dragons are real.
