GearHead: Man City Esports reveals new jersey; paisley fans rejoice

Man City/Puma
Do you like paisley? Someone at Manchester City sure does. We can tell because the newly unveiled Man City Esports jersey features a stylish paisley print.
Well, it’s stylish if you like paisley. If you don’t, maybe not so much.
Created in conjunction with Puma, the jersey draws inspiration from Manchester City Football Club’s “third kit”. You may be shocked to learn that it also features a paisley pattern.
Here’s the official word, straight from the Man City website:
The City esports jersey celebrates the rich music and fashion culture of the city. The jersey features a unique paisley pattern created for Manchester City featuring the details of the club’s crest. The pattern is synonymous with artists from the ‘Mod’ and the ‘Brit Pop’ eras of the 1990’s and was a staple of youth fashion in the 1960’s, influencing fashion and music culture in Manchester for generations.
If you love paisley as much as Man City evidently does, you can buy the jersey at the teams’ official online store.
Manchester City signed its first esports player—then-18-year-old Kieran “Kex” Brown—in 2016.
Last year, the team announced a collaborative partnership with esports powerhouse FaZe Clan. In June of this year, the two organizations teamed up to release a capsule collection that included a T-shirt, a hoodie, shorts, and a collectible “half and half” scarf. The two also teamed up with FaZe’s partner SCUF to create limited-edition FaZe x Manchester City–themed game controllers as a fan giveaway.
