PlayStation turns the spotlight on next-generation games with State of Play

PlayStation will be turning its attention to the little guys next week by focussing on the superstar games of tomorrow. On Wednesday (October 27) the gaming-console giant will take to YouTube and Twitch for another installment of its State of Play show. On deck this time will be updates and announcements for third-party releases that will appear on PS4 and PSF in the weeks and months ahead.

The broadcast is expected to be around 20 minutes, and will feature both reveals from PlayStation partners as well as semi-deep dives into games that have already been announced.

And by previously announced, we’re clearly not talking League of Legends, Clash of Clans, or Custer’s Revenge. There is some talk however that those who tune in might get an advance sneak peek at the upcoming Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, as well as the much-anticipated Call of Duty: Vanguard.

The great thing about the State of Play, of course, is that there was a time when Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty were only seen as a glint in some uber-keen developer’s eye. That means that somewhere along the line those with their ear to the ground were the first to get a look at the rock-star games of tomorrow.

So be the first to get a look at the games that might end up achieving legendary status by tuning into the State of Play show on Wednesday (October 27) at 2 p.m.

Mike Usinger once took the better part of two years to finish Grand Theft Auto. Over the course of his career he has written about everything from eSports to music to movies to travel.
