Rainbow Six Siege is about to be deeply discounted, not to mention free, for a limited time

Get ready to run, especially if money is tight

This is a good time to be a Rainbow Six Siege fan.

If the second quarter of 2020 taught most of us one thing, it’s that money can sometimes be hard to come by. Especially during global pandemics. As a result, when see you something flagged as “free”, you run instead of walk to get a piece of the action.

With that in mind, jot down the dates June 11 to 14 in your virtual daytimer.

That’s when Ubisoft will temporarily make Rainbow Six Siege free for anyone who owns a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or good old-fashioned PC.

To take advantage of the offer on PC, you’ll need to download Ubisoft’s Uplay Launcher at the Epic Games Store, take out an account, and download the free version of the game. There will also be big discounts (i.e. almost 70 percent off) for PC owners who decide they’d rather own than freeload over the weekend.

For those on PlayStation and Xbox, there’ll be a Try Free Demo offer at the stores for those platforms.

Any advancements made during the free trial period will carry over to the game, should you decide to purchase it.

What is Rainbow Six Siege?

For the uninitiated, here’s the offical word from Ubisoft:

Rainbow Six Siege is an intense, new approach to the first-person multiplayer shooter experience. Choose from a variety of unique elite Operators and master their abilities as you lead your team through tense, thrilling, and destructive team-based combat.

Squad up and breach in to explosive 5v5 PVP action. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege features a huge roster of specialized operators, each with game-changing gadgets to help you lead your team to victory.

Mike Usinger once took the better part of two years to finish Grand Theft Auto. Over the course of his career he has written about everything from eSports to music to movies to travel.
