Supercell Switches up Clash of Clans World Championship Schedule

We’ll look back on 2020 as… well, a shit show, basically. Mostly, we’ll look back on it as a year when nothing happened when it was supposed to, and that is certainly true in the world of eSports.

Supercell’s US$1 million Clash of Clans World Championship 2020 was originally scheduled to have six live qualifiers, but thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first three of those have been moved online, with the remaining three pushed later in the year.

If all goes well—which it very well might not, because this is 2020—the last three qualifiers will take place offline at the ESL Arena in Katowice, Poland. The finals will then happen sometime in late November or early December.

Courtesy of Supercell, here is the updated schedule:

I have done a lot of different things over the course of my life and professional career. I have interviewed Oscar and Grammy winners and written cover stories for glossy newsstand magazines. I have played guitar in a rock band on national TV and run an independent music label for which I wrote all of the PR and marketing materials. In my spare time, I sweated out a novel about a world where raccoons are kings and dragons are real.
