Twitch Rivals and FaZe Clan announce star-studded Warzone tournament

Get ready for one of the most star-studded events of the ESports gaming year. Twitch Rivals has teamed up with FaZe Clan for a Warzone tournament with a US$75,000 payout. Considering the tourney is billed as Twitch Rivals: FaZe Face-Off, it some of the names involved will surprise no one.

Doing Battle on the Call of Duty Warzone field will be FaZe stars like Brian “Rug” Awadis, Kris “Swagg” Lamberson. And also Yousef “Apex” Abdelfattah, Thomas “Temperrr” Oliveira, and Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff.

However, where things will get interesting is who those gaming giants will be playing alongside. Watch for a full 20 teams to do their best in famously inhospitable Verdansk, which is home to the Gora Dam and Tunnel, the Arklov Peak Military Base, and the Karst River Quarry.

Furthermore, joining the fray will be such athletic pros like the NBA’s Josh Hart, Zach LaVine, Meyers Leonard, and Ben Simmons. Also taking part will be National Women’s Soccer star Allie Long and NFLer Tarik Cohen.

It’s not only well-paid athletes—ESports and otherwise—that will be taking to the Twitch Rivals and Twitch FaZe channels for the tourney.

Call of Duty War!

Making wonder how he is going to see out of his giant Stay Puft headgear, superstar DJ Marshmello will wage Call of Duty War. Furthermore, sticking with the DJs, other participants will include Norway’s Alan Walker, Guatemala’s Carnage, and Belgium’s Dimitri Vegas.

Rappers Slim Jxmmi and Lil Durk will represent the hip-hop world.

However, it’s not only money and Twitch exposure that will be the drawing cards for Twitch Rivals Warzone. FaZe Clan is making exclusive merch available to viewers, who will also be given the keys to exclusive content.

More celebrities and athletes is to be announced in the coming weeks.

Watch for the Twitch Rivals Warzone tournament to kick off on September 17 at 2 p.m. PST on the Twitch Rivals and Twitch FaZe channels.
