Valve’s latest Dota 2 Battle Pass is already breaking records
The latest Dota 2 Battle Pass was released yesterday, and it’s on track to give The International a record-breaking prize pool. (Twenty-five percent of each Battle Pass sale goes into that pot, to be added to a base pool of US$1.6 million.)
According to the Dota 2 Prize Pool Tracker, this Battle Pass took 19 hours to surpass the previous first-day record, raising over US$7.5 million in that time.
Last year’s prize pool was a whopping US$34 million, raised in 112 days. As of this writing, the current one sits at just over US$8 million.
All this and we still have no idea when The International 10 will take place!

All heroes are free.
Competitive balance is Dota’s crown jewel, and to ensure everyone is playing on an even field, the core content of the game—like the vast pool of heroes—is available to all players. Fans can collect cosmetics for heroes and fun add-ons for the world they inhabit, but everything you need to play is already included before you join your first match.
